Intensive Outpatient Program for Sexual Addiction in Utah

An intensive six-day outpatient experience in a safe, nonjudgmental environment.

6 Day Intensive Program

We offer an intensive six-day outpatient experience (IOP) in a safe, nonjudgmental environment.

This unique IOP is designed to help individuals struggling with pornography addiction and unwanted sexual compulsive behaviors.

This proven treatment provides a long-term, comprehensive approach to eliminating addictive/compulsive sexual behaviors and is complementary to ongoing treatment with the clients’ therapist.

Our IOP offers many benefits of a longer term program while making it less costly and more manageable for your busy schedule.

Pre Admission

We want clients coming to the program ready to do the work.

We’ll help prepare them beforehand so their visit with LifeStar will be the most productive it can be.

We realize people have busy lives so we have a pre-admission packet to complete that will help this process.

Aftercare

Aftercare begins even before the program starts.

We are in contact with the client’s therapist before, during and after the IOP, and will help set up an ongoing treatment plan. If a client does not have a therapist where they live we’ll help start the process of finding one for them.

Not only do we feel the importance of keeping contact with a client’s therapist, but we believe strongly in keeping the lines of communication open to the spouse during the treatment process to address any concerns. We provide needed follow up in the months to follow, offering a 3-day workshop for graduates of the IOP.

This special weekend is designed to help heal men’s hearts by inspiring them to become the kind of men God intended them to be. This process is critical as men continue the battle to regain the trust lost to their spouse and family. It will reinforce and expand on many of the concepts taught during the 6 day IOP. All of this takes place in a beautiful lodge in the heart of the Wasatch Mountains.

What Will The Days Include?

Research indicates that desired results for long-term behavioral change require the creation of ‘new pathway structuring’ in the brain.

This type of brain change makes for lasting recovery and a long-term healthy lifestyle. It requires an approach to learning that engages the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual centers of a person’s life. During each of the six days at LifeStar’s IOP, men are involved in activities that access and develop these four areas.

The days begin with opportunities to enhance spiritual centeredness and awareness. Men participate in individual and group therapy sessions, complete workbooks and listen to lectures provided by experts in the field.

They acquire strategies and tools to implement in their personalized recovery plan, and they learn from and interact with men who have established lives of long-term recovery and healing. Clients also participate in equine therapy and other experiential interventions.

There is time for daily personal reflection and recovery planning as well as opportunities for involvement in 12-step recovery meetings in the evenings.
